External Essentials: Powerful Financial Literacy Resources
We love supporting youth who are taking the initiative and doing their part to help those in need and RUN THIS TOWN! YRTTF OC is excited to showcase and collaborate with twin brothers Luke and Nick Meggers, sophomores at Saint Margaret’s Episcopal School, who founded Financial Futures, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching financial literacy to upper elementary and middle school students. Their interactive workshops cover essential topics such as budgeting, money management, interview tips, and saving for college, all through fun, engaging activities. Last year, Financial Futures partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach and Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano to reach over 250 students, using their custom-designed game, “Dollars and Decisions,” to make learning enjoyable. Additionally, as Dragon Kim Fellows, they refined their program with expert mentorship to ensure its impact. Luke and Nick are eager to partner with You Run This Town Foundation – Orange County to bring these workshops to students, providing all necessary materials, including student workbooks, prizes, and game boards.
